Facing out toward the vista of Citadel Hill, at the corner of South Park and Sackville Streets, the brand-new John W. Lindsay YMCA of Greater Halifax/Dartmouth is a 70,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art facility that offers potential for healthy activity, belonging, and community building.
The new facility includes two levels of strength and cardio equipment, an indoor walking track, studios for programming, a childminding centre, a Child and Family Development Centre, a state-of-the art gym, and three pools designed by Aqua Plans Aquatic Consultants Inc.
The natatorium features a 6-lane lap pool with an accessibility ramp, a teaching pool complete with a movable floor to allow for both deep and shallow water programming, and a hot pool with hydro massage jets.
