Kananaskis Nordic Spa

Client: Evolution Pools

Location: Kananaskis Village, Alberta

Overlooked by the majestic Mount Kid, Kananaskis Nordic Spa spans 50,000 square feet of contemporary indoor and outdoor space - a first of its kind in the province of Alberta. Aqua Plans completed the full mechanical and structural design of five outdoor pools with varying temperatures. All five pools work in conjunction with one another to create a thermal cycle. This sequence stimulates blood flow around the body, eliminates toxins, reduces stress, and gently increases the heart rate for an instant feeling of head-to-toe wellbeing. Over time, regular use of the cycle can enhance emotional and mental health, stimulate the immune system, boost happy hormones, promote better sleep, and repair worked muscles.

Guests of the Kananaskis Nordic Spa begin the thermal cycle in the hottest pool - the spa (35 – 40 ºC or 95- 104 ºF). After 15-20 minutes in the spa, guests continue the sequence in the warm (32 – 38 ºC or 90 – 100 ºF), chemical free pool for another 15-20 minutes. To complete the cycle, guests must take quick dip in the cold plunge pool!
