Client: AIRE Ancient Baths
Location: Toronto, Ontario
With locations around the world, including Barcelona, London, Copenhagen, New York, and Chicago, AIRE Ancient Baths has expanded its global presence with the opening of AIRE Ancient Baths Toronto, its newest location.
Situated in Toronto’s historic Fashion District, the spa is housed within an Edwardian Classicism building originally constructed in 1912 as the office and warehouse of the Copp Clark publishing company. Now a designated heritage site, the building has been thoughtfully restored and reimagined to preserve its storied past. The original wood structure and towering columns have been retained, while the space has undergone a complete transformation into the city’s newest luxury wellness destinations.
Honouring its industrial and printing heritage, the interior features vintage books and historic printing presses integrated throughout the space, surrounding seven immersive bodies of water: The Tepidarium, The Flotarium, The Caldarium, The Frigidarium, The Balnium, The Palestra, and The Hammam.
Working directly with the AIRE Ancient Baths team and in coordination with Arcadis, Aqua Plans Aquatic Consultants Inc. was proud to provide the aquatic design and engineering services for all seven pools.
The spa experience is further enhanced by a dry sauna, vaporium, 12 massage rooms, two warm marble beds, and a signature Wine Bath infused with the antioxidant properties of Spanish Tempranillo grapes.
