Grandview Kids

The Jerry Coughlan Building serves as the new home for Grandview Kids in Ajax, Ontario. Founded in 1953, Grandview Kids is an independently operated, not-for-profit organization and the only Children’s Treatment Centre in Durham Region. The organization provides specialized programs, outpatient clinical treatment, and family support services to thousands of children and youth with physical, communication, and developmental needs.

Working as part of the Children First Consortium with Amico Affiliates and Parkin Architects, Aqua Plans Aquatic Consultants Inc. provided full design and engineering services for the facility’s new therapy pool.

The therapy pool includes resistance jets for rehabilitation and therapeutic use, an accessibility ramp, lift, and hoist system. The pool also integrates Snoezelen Therapy capabilities, creating a controlled multi-sensory environment designed to support children with autism, developmental variances, and brain injuries.
