Yarmouth Mariners Centre

Opened in 2001, the 65,000 sq. ft. Yarmouth Mariners Centre has served the Yarmouth, Nova Scotia community for over 20 years. The expansion project adds a fitness centre, indoor walking track, multi-purpose spaces, and a new Aquatic Centre.

Aqua Plans Aquatic Consultants Inc., in collaboration with Plus VG Architects and TEAL Architects, provided the design and engineering for the aquatic centre, which includes a 25-meter, six-lane lap and competition pool, an 1,800 sq. ft. warm water leisure pool with basketball and volleyball nets, teaching steps, and spray features, and a 4,000 sq. ft. hot water spa with multiple hydro-massage jets. All three aquatic areas feature full perimeter overflow systems and barrier-free entry, and the deck includes a large run-out waterslide for children.

The expansion creates a campus-style community hub for sport, health and wellness, entertainment, and events, designed to serve Yarmouth and the surrounding region for years to come.
